Role

Designed as the companion to Seaview Ridge, this 3,600-square-foot residence—built on the adjacent lot—continues the contemporary Australian-inspired design language while responding to its own steep, view-oriented site. Each level steps naturally with the terrain, culminating in a rooftop deck that captures sweeping Puget Sound views and floods the interior with daylight.

Challenge

The steep, sloped site required careful integration of structure and landscape. Unlike its bold, expressive sibling, this home needed to achieve a quieter sophistication while maximizing views, daylight, and livable space without overwhelming the surrounding neighborhood.

Solution

A series of retaining and foundation walls ground the home to the slope, allowing main living spaces to float lightly above the landscape. Expansive glazing and crisp geometric forms emphasize light and openness, while the home’s massing and orientation maintain harmony with the site and neighborhood context.

Materials + Craft

High-quality concrete and metal finishes create durability and modern character. Structural supports and retaining walls are executed with precision, while glazing and clean forms are carefully detailed for both performance and aesthetic refinement.
